Frequently Asked Questions
Billing & Plans
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the billing portal from the Billing page and cancel there — no email or phone call needed. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account reverts to Free. Full detail in the Billing & Refund Policy §6.
Is there a free trial, or can I just use the Free plan?
There's no separate timed trial — the Free plan itself never expires, so you can use StackMap for as long as you like (up to 50 links and 5 stacks) before ever paying. See Pricing.
Can I get a refund?
Your Australian Consumer Law rights always apply regardless of anything else. On top of that, we may — at our discretion — refund a first-time Pro purchase if you contact us within 7 days and haven't made substantial use of Pro features. Renewals and later purchases generally aren't covered by this goodwill window. Full terms: Billing & Refund Policy §7.
What happens to my data if a payment fails or I downgrade?
Nothing is deleted. If you're over the free-plan limits, extra links and stacks stay saved but become read-only until you resubscribe or trim back under the free limits. See Billing & Refund Policy §8.
Privacy & Data
Where is my data stored, and does it leave Australia?
Some of our service providers (Supabase, Cloudflare, Stripe, and Google for sign-in) may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure this is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. Full detail: Privacy Policy §7.
How do I delete my account and data?
Email us with "Privacy Request" in the subject, or delete your account from the app's settings. We delete or de-identify your data within a reasonable period, except where we're required by law to retain it (e.g. financial records) — see Privacy Policy §11 and §13.
Is StackMap OK for kids to use?
No — StackMap isn't directed at, or intended for, anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from children under that age. See Terms of Service §2 and Privacy Policy §16.
Security & Link Shield
Does Link Shield guarantee that a link is safe?
No. Link Shield is a best-effort filter that checks for known-risky patterns before a link opens or saves — it's a helpful layer, not a guarantee. A link that isn't flagged should never be assumed 100% safe. Full disclaimer: Terms of Service §17A.
I think I got scammed through a link saved in StackMap — what now?
First, protect yourself: contact your bank or card provider immediately if money or card details were involved. Then report the link to us at contact@stackmap.net so we can improve our filters. As set out in our Terms of Service §17A, we aren't liable for losses from third-party scams or fraud, whether or not the link passed through Link Shield.
What should I do if I suspect unauthorised access to my account?
Email us immediately at contact@stackmap.net, change your password, and enable two-factor authentication if you haven't already. See Terms of Service §5.
